Refrigeration Apprenticeship

We are seeking a Refrigeration Apprentice to join the team at Johnson Controls. This position is located in the Chiller team at Windsor, QLD.

You will be hosted with Johnson Controls, a company that has the world's largest portfolio of building products, technologies, software, and services with nearly 2,000 locations worldwide.

Undertaking this four-year air conditioning and refrigeration apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to become qualified in this specialist trade while completing your UEE32220 Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.

Join our Chiller Team and gain hands-on experience supporting qualified technicians with a variety of tasks, including:

• Performing annual maintenance such as tube cleaning, leak testing, and coil cleaning

• Assisting with chiller diagnostics and repairs, both electrical and mechanical

• Supporting new chiller installations and commissioning

• Collaborating with HVAC and project teams on related mechanical works

• Willingness to learn, listen, and follow instructions.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Keen to learn and develop skills within the HVAC industry.

• Computer literate, with the ability to complete digital documentation and reports.

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of hand and power tools.

• Some prior experience in basic labouring and the use of tools/equipment is preferred.

• Valid driver's licence.

• Current Construction White Card (or ability to obtain).

• Willingness and ability to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment.

• Ability to pass a medical examination, including drug and alcohol screening, and a National Police Check.
