Little Kindy Dalyellup are looking for an amazing Nominated Supervisor to work alongside our Centre Director

Position Summary:

Full time

The Nominated Supervisor will work alongside our Centre Director to ensure that the service operates safely and in full compliance with regulations, with a focus on the physical and emotional wellbeing of children and staff. This role also supports meaningful engagement with families and community safety networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee regulatory compliance, licensing requirements, and safety audits.
  • Lead Work Health and Safety (WHS) initiatives and staff training.
  • Support communication with external services and community safety organisations.
  • Collaborate with the Director to integrate community support into the service (e.g., child health, early intervention).
  • Promote family and community awareness of the service's policies and health practices.
  • Compliance Responsibilities of the Nominated Supervisor
  • Work Days: Monday – Friday
  • The Nominated Supervisor holds legal responsibility under the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations to ensure that the service is operating in full compliance with all applicable standards. This role is critical for maintaining the safety, wellbeing, and rights of children, staff, and families.
  • 1. Regulatory Compliance (National Law & Regulations)
  • Ensure the centre operates in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and National Regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain all necessary approvals, including provider and service approvals.
  • Keep up to date with changes in legislation and ensure service practices are updated accordingly.
  • Ensure accurate documentation is maintained in line with Regulation 168 (Policies and Procedures).
  • 2. Health, Safety & Wellbeing (WHS)
  • Conduct and document regular Work Health and Safety (WHS) checks and audits.
  • Maintain records of incidents, injuries, trauma and illness (as per Regulation 87).
  • Oversee implementation and review of Risk Assessments (Regulation 100–102).
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed for:

  • Supervision

  • Hazard management
  • Emergency procedures (Regulation 97)
  • Sun protection, hygiene, and infection control
  • 3. Records & Documentation Compliance
  • Ensure accurate, up-to-date maintenance of:

  • Attendance records (children and staff)

  • Medication forms
  • Accident, injury, and incident reports
  • Authorisations and consents
  • Enrolment and child profile forms
  • Ensure records are securely stored for the required regulatory timeframes.
  • 4. Policies and Procedures Oversight
  • Ensure the service has up-to-date mandatory policies (as listed in Regulation 168), including:

  • Health and Safety

  • Enrolment and orientation
  • Delivery and collection of children
  • Incidents, injury, trauma and illness
  • Behaviour guidance
  • Ensure policies are regularly reviewed (at least annually), in consultation with families and staff.
  • 5. Emergency Management and Evacuation
  • Oversee development and implementation of the Emergency and Evacuation Plan.
  • Ensure emergency drills are conducted every 3 months and recorded.
  • Ensure staff and children are familiar with evacuation procedures.

6. Notifications to the Regulatory Authority (ACECQA / State Regulator)

  • Ensure the timely submission of Notifiable Incidents and changes, including:
  • Serious injury, illness or trauma
  • Death of a child
  • Emergency evacuation or service closure
  • Complaints alleging harm or a breach of the National Law
  • Changes to the Nominated Supervisor, Responsible Person, or service operations
  • 7. Quality Improvement and Audit Support
  • Working alongside the Director in maintaining the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
  • Prepare and present documentation for Assessment and Rating visits.
  • Conduct internal audits to assess and improve compliance standards
