The opportunity
We're after a proactive HR Officer to keep day-to-day people ops humming during a parental leave period. You'll be the first stop for HR admin, recruitment coordination, onboarding, compliance checks and HRIS accuracy across support worker, nursing and corporate teams.
What you'll do
- Coordinate recruitment admin: job ads, screening, interview scheduling, reference checks, offers and contracts.
- Run onboarding/offboarding: NDIS Worker Screening, WWCC, Police Checks, immunisations, induction logistics, equipment and systems access.
- Maintain HRIS and personnel files; track probations, licenses, training, and compliance expiries.
- Prepare letters, variations, policy acknowledgements and simple reports (headcount, vacancies, leave, turnover).
- Support payroll with data accuracy (new starters, changes, terminations) and basic award/time & attendance queries (SCHADS exposure ideal).
- Working knowledge of the SCHADS Award is required for payroll support and award interpretation.
- Provide first-line HR support and escalate matters appropriately; take minutes and document case notes for performance/conduct processes.
- Arrange micro-training/toolbox sessions and assist WHS/Clinical Quality with incident follow-ups and RTW coordination admin.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of forms, checklists and workflows.
What you'll bring
- Experience in an HR Officer/Coordinator role (healthcare, community services, aged care or NDIS preferred).
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an HR Officer/Coordinator role is required.
- Working knowledge of the Fair Work system; confident with HR admin and documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and service mindset.
- Comfortable with HRIS and Microsoft 365; basic reporting skills.
- Calm, solution-focused style aligned to our values.
Mandatory checks & requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Children Check (state-based), recent National Police Check.
- All mandatory background checks must be current and held at the time of application.
- Current Australian work rights and driver's licence; ability to visit sites as needed.
- Evidence of required immunisations (e.g., COVID-19/Influenza).
