Overview

We are seeking for a Career Development Specialist to join the Career Counseling Group (CCG) under the Career Development Division (CDD) of the Management & Professional Development Department (M&PDD).

Career counseling services are conducted in strict confidence and adherence to the Company's policies and guidelines and the Kingdom's National Standards for Career Practitioners.

Your primary role is to deliver career development experiences and building professional capacity to drive career fulfilment and ultimately, corporate performance. Offered career services are designed to facilitate employees career development and support them in goal-setting, making career decisions, exploring options, navigating through transitions, or solving any other career issue or concern.

Duties and Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

  • Provide confidential, multi-mode career counseling/guidance for early-career and experienced professionals in a wide range of contexts.
  • Design and deliver customized career practitioner training informed by international best practices and adult learning principles.
  • Coordinate and provide career practitioner/counselor supervision and skill assessment processes to determine progress and promote skill acquisition, to ensure optimum development and adherence to career services delivery standards and guidelines.
  • Develop effective relationships with company line organizations to grow knowledge and understanding of key business drivers, co-creating innovative career interventions to support the development of business goals.
  • Plan, design and facilitate career development sessions, including self-awareness, opportunity-awareness, decision making, transitioning and career management skills, in-line with business needs.
  • Proactively support employees, supervisors and mentors with creation and alignment of individual development plans with business needs, achieving synergies with corporate strategic goals.
  • Report on career counseling services, with a view to identifying further opportunities to align CDD service with individual aspirations and business needs.
  • Keep up-to-date on the latest trends, issues and challenges for career counseling/guidance as relevant to early-career and experienced professionals within the energy sector.
  • Work closely with career practitioners/counselors across CDD and corporate-wide to share best practice, knowledge and create opportunities for mutual benefit.
  • Maintain accurate and regular records of all career counseling activities and services for reporting and monitoring purposes, as and when required by senior management.
  • Build experience through continuous research of career development/human resources/workforce trends and identify practices and technologies appropriate to the organization's needs.
  • Consistently practices proven characteristics of effective teaming.
  • Administer, use and debrief career assessments to identify motivators, personality preferences, strengths and aspirations.

Minimum requirements

  • As the successful candidate you will hold a Master's degree with courses in education, career guidance, counseling or related fields.
  • Maintain relevant career counseling/guidance credentials and professional organization affiliations such as National Career Development Association, Career Development Institute, Career Professionals of Canada, Career Industry Council of Australia, or other.
  • You will have 6 to 10 years of experience in career development including 3 to 5 years in career counseling/guidance and professional development activities and training, preferably training career counselors/practitioners.
  • Wide experience in Career Counseling/Guidance that includes some supervisory experience.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills that include the ability to consult, counsel, present, and lead meetings.
  • Experience in delivering & facilitating training to internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with career development and assessment tools and resources.
