Why work with us
Every child and young person deserves a great education.
We have a strategy that aims to unlock every child's potential now and into the future, one that in partnership with learners, students, parents and the wider South Australian community will build a world-leading public education system. One that is equitable and prioritises learning and wellbeing.
Together we will make our education system the best it can be.
When our children and young people thrive, so do our communities and our state.
About The Role
Children's Centres for Early Childhood Development and Parenting (children's centres) provide a network of integrated health, family support and education service hubs for families with babies and young children across South Australia. Centres also provide a range of discipline-informed group and individual services for children, families and colleagues that promote children's healthy development and support parenting through both universal and targeted service provision. To assist in reducing the number of South Australian children who are developmentally vulnerable, Integrated Hubs will provide additional access to family and child health development services, allied health services, parenting/family support programs, though a referral pathway, alongside a high-quality preschool education program for 3- and 4-year-olds. These services will be community co-designed with place-based additional supports on offer.
The Allied Health Family Support Coordinator, Integrated Hub works in partnership with other staff and the local community to reduce developmental vulnerability (as defined by AEDC) by strengthening access to place-based service provision for families and children based on locally identified needs. Using an integrated approach, the family support coordinator will identify and implement relevant place-based activities and community focused service connections to support families, children and on-site service providers. This includes specific allied health services using a range of trauma informed, early childhood and culturally responsive evidence-based models and skills as well as key working relationships with other community services in response to the needs of children and families, particularly those experiencing social isolation, high levels of vulnerability and trauma. The role will support the Office of Early Childhood Development Integrated Hub Service Model and its delivery to achieve improved educational, social, health and developmental outcomes.
Student Support Services are on a cultural response journey, as such we value and prioritise Aboriginal ways of knowing, doing and being.
