Apprentice Greenkeeper (Sports Turf Management)

The Royal Perth Golf Club, is a prestigious Club with a rich history and commitment to maintaining a world-class golf course, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as an Apprentice Greenkeeper.

Position Overview:

As an Apprentice Greenkeeper at Royal Perth Golf Club, you will embark on a rewarding journey towards obtaining your Certificate III in Sports Turf Management. This apprenticeship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working within the agronomy team, you will learn from experienced professionals both at work and throughout our industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance and preparation of all turf areas, landscaping and ornamental plantings around the golf course.
  • Mowing, Irrigation maintenance and installation, turf establishment, safe application of fertilisers and pesticides.
  • Learn and develop industry leading turf construction methods and procedures.
  • Become a proficient operator in a vast range of specialised turf equipment and machinery.
  • Work collaboratively within the agronomy team to ensure the overall excellence of the golf course.

You will Have:

  • Genuine interest in sports, Horticulture and Turf Management.
  • Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Capable to work autonomously and within a team.
  • Capacity of working regularly on weekends through a roster system
  • Australian 'C' Class drivers' licence. Provisional or Learners permit accepted.
  • Australian working rights.
