Dining Attendant

Good Shepherd Lodge Ltd is situated in Mackay, Queensland, and operates 2 aged care facilities, Good Shepherd Lodge and Kerrisdale Gardens, comprising 240 beds across both sites. Our purpose is to provide a caring, safe and stimulating environment that supports our residents to live their later years to the fullest.

Job Summary:

We are seeking dedicated and experienced Dining Room Attendants to join our team in providing high quality meals to our residents. The successful candidate will work closely with our kitchen staff and dieticians to prepare and serve meals, ensuring all dietary requirements are met. This job is perfect for someone who is passionate about food, enjoys working with the elderly and wants to make a positive impact on their lives.

Skills:

• Previous experience in a support services or catering role
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Attention to detail
• Knowledge of food safety regulations

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals for residents.
• Serve meals to residents, ensuring correct portion sizes and all dietary needs are catered for.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, dieticians, and other team members.
• Interact with residents in a friendly and respectful manner, ensuring their needs and preferences are met.
• Comply with health and safety regulations and facility policies at all times.

Requirements:

• Current Flu Vaccination
• National Police Check or willingness to get one
