About the Centre/Service

Sorrento Preschool is a community run, sessional Kindergarten offering programs for two groups of 3 Year Olds and two groups of 4 Year Olds. Currently rated Exceeding in all areas under the National Quality Standard (NQS). We proudly offer a unique Bush and Beach Kinder Program that connects children with nature and fosters a deep respect for Country. Weekly outdoor learning is an integral part of our program.

Description

We are looking for a passionate and nurturing educator, commencing Term 1, 2026. We run a bush'n beach session every Wednesday for 3.5 hours at Point Nepean National Park, so applicant must be ready to be outside in all weather A love of nature and animals will also help in our service Proposed Times: Monday pm (Lunch Covers), Tuesday Lunch Covers) Wednesday Educator & Bush Kinder) Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the Early Childhood Teachers, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the development and delivery of a high-quality, developmentally appropriate program for children.
  • Collaborating as part of a team to deliver a developmentally appropriate program.
  • Taking shared responsibility for housekeeping tasks related to the program, including preparation, hygiene, safety, and packing away. Actively contributing to the development and implementation of the service's Quality Improvement Plan.
  • Working cooperatively with management and staff to maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with OHS safety procedures.

Some in house relief work may be available.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Children's Education and Care or Cert 3 and Working Towards Diploma
  • Current Child Protection training and knowledge.
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Current First Aid
