Admin Assistant, Inclusion

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Royal Life Saving WA is a not-for profit organisation, serving the community as the largest provider of swimming and water safety in our state. Our purpose is empowering our community to be safe when they are in, on or around water and leading efforts to reduce the impact of drowning.

Royal Life Saving WA is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our Education team to assist in our aim to ensure no child misses out on learning vital swimming and water safety skills in WA. The position is casual (2-3 days per week) with the potential to grow to part time in the near future.

The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for:

• Provide general team support, including administrative duties and tasks related to the RLSSWA Swim and Survive Fund and disability programs
• Supporting the delivery of projects that encourage greater participation in swimming and water safety programs among multicultural and Aboriginal communities.
• Support the team in building and maintaining partnerships with metropolitan and regional multicultural and Aboriginal community groups, working collaboratively to remove barriers to participation.
• Work alongside the inclusion team to co‑design culturally appropriate and relevant programs in partnership with key community stakeholders.
• Assist the team with basic research into new project ideas and potential funding opportunities that promote inclusive access to swimming and water safety programs.

The Admin Assistant (Inclusion) will play a key support role for our Inclusion Coordinators, working closely with other members of the Education team and a range of stakeholders, including members of the RLSSWA Multicultural and Disability Steering Committees, multicultural and Aboriginal community groups, local government aquatic centres, and schools, to help increase participation in swimming and water safety programs for at risk members of our community.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

• Experience providing general administrative support, addressing customer enquiries, scheduling, records management, and conducting basic research tasks
• Strong administrative and data entry skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Project coordination capabilities, including organising timelines, tracking progress, and supporting team deliverables
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
• Experience working with multicultural, Aboriginal, and Torres Strait Islander communities, as well as people with disabilities (desirable)
• Qualifications in community education, health promotion, sport and recreation, community engagement, or a related field (desirable)
• Understanding of Royal Life Saving WA programs and initiatives (desirable)
• Knowledge of swimming and water safety program delivery (desirable)
• Experienced in using enrolment platforms such as iClassPro (desirable)
• Experience in report writing and/or grant writing (desirable)
