About Us

GenusPlus Group is a leading player in Australia's energy infrastructure space, delivering large‑scale transmission, distribution and renewables projects with safety, quality and innovation at the heart of what we do. We are proud to build strong teams, supply long‑term career opportunities and support our people every step of the way.

The Opportunity

Join the team on the HCC REZ (Hunter Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone) project and be a key contributor to a major infrastructure build in the Hunter Region, NSW. As an Advanced Rigger you will be undertaking critical rigging activities — working with precision, heavy lifting, steel erection, crane operations and high‑voltage infrastructure. You will be joining a motivated crew, backed by the strong support systems of GenusPlus, and working in a dynamic, high‑profile project environment.

What you'll do

  • Execute advanced rigging operations – including load calculations, slinging, signalling, crane pick & carry, structural steel and heavy components.
  • Work closely with crane operators, supervisors and other trades to safely install and secure large‑scale steel and electrical infrastructure.
  • Maintain strict compliance with WHS and site‐specific safety procedures, including working at heights, confined spaces, and around live electrical assets.
  • Inspect rigging gear, perform pre‐start checks, ensure equipment is maintained and safe for use.
  • Participate in team planning, signage, risk assessments and toolbox talks – contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Assist with the mobilisation/demobilisation phases of heavy lifts and structural installs as required by the project schedule.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience as an Advanced Rigger (or equivalent) on major infrastructure / high voltage / transmission projects.
  • Trade relevant tickets/licenses: Rigger Level 2/3 (or equivalent), Dogging, Crane signalling, Working at Heights, Confined Space, Lifting Supervisor (or ability to up‐skill).
  • Strong understanding of load charts, rigging hardware, steel erection, and heavy modular installation.
  • Excellent safety mindset and track record of working in high‑risk environments.
  • Ability to work in a high‑performance team, follow instructions from crane operators/supervisors, and maintain clear communication.
  • Flexibility to work on the site schedule – likely Monday to Friday, with possibility of variation depending on project needs.
  • Based in (or willing to relocate to) the Hunter Region, NSW (or willing to commute/mobilise).

What's in it for you

  • Join a marquee renewable energy infrastructure project with long‑term scope and growth potential.
  • Work for a nationally recognised employer with strong safety, training and career development focus.
  • Excellent remuneration package and allowances corresponding to the advanced nature of the role.
  • Chance to further enhance your career in rigging, crane operations and heavy infrastructure with a company invested in your development.
