The Opportunity

As the successful incumbent, you will be a key member of the Health and Fitness business unit. Your key objective is to contribute to the Fitness Centre's culture and values via the provision of outstanding service. This includes delivering exercise advice and instruction on equipment and training tools as well as providing guidance and motivation to all members in order to facilitate a welcoming and inclusive training environment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing a range of health and fitness based services to the Monash Sport community including; supervision of the Fitness Centre and educating fitness centre users of the facilities conditions of entry and fitness etiquette guidelines
  • Designing and creating progressive, results-driven and innovative personalised exercise programs for a wide demographic of members
  • Conducting and delivering accurate and effective personalised health and progress assessments
  • Providing a high-level of engagement to members in order to create a welcoming and inclusive training environment
  • Driving the fitness team's values in order to deliver exceptional service to all members
  • Provide a high level of customer service to Monash Sport customers and members across a wide range of Service Desk offerings and functions, including (but not limited to) membership sales and renewals, Point of Sales (POS) transactions, and casual court hire bookings.

Your employment is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of all pre-employment and/or background checks required for the role, as determined by the University.

This successful incumbent will hold a Certificate III and Certificate IV in Fitness or a relevant Tertiary Qualification related to fitness/exercise as well as a current First Aid and CPR certificate, along with current accredited level registration with Ausactive Australia.

The role is performed at Caulfield and Peninsula campuses and runs on a Monday - Friday Schedule.

The work schedule is as follows:

Monday: 1.00pm - 9.00pm (Peninsula campus)

Tuesday: 9.00am - 4.30pm (Peninsula campus)

Wednesday: 10.45am - 7.30pm (Caulfield campus)

Thursday: 5.45am - 1.15pm (Caulfield campus)

Friday: 5.45am - 1.15pm (Caulfield campus)

This position at the University will require the incumbent to be immunised against HEP B as per the new vaccination requirements (or willingness to obtain these within three months of employment).
