Anduril Australia is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist (Operations Research) with expertise in discrete event modeling, statistical analysis, and operational research. This role will involve utilizing advanced quantitative techniques to enhance decision-making processes, improve operational efficiency, and support organizational goals. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic and high-pressure environment.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement discrete event models using statistical distributions as inputs to simulate and analyze complex systems.
  • Analyze large datasets to extract meaningful patterns, trends, and insights that inform strategic decisions.
  • Utilize statistical software and programming languages for data manipulation and visualization.
  • Apply operational research techniques to optimize processes and resource allocation.
  • Perform sensitivity analysis to assess the impacts of various operational strategies.
  • Reports on modeling approaches, results, and recommendations.
  • Present findings to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Contribute to the development of internal tools and systems to streamline data collection and reporting processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in discrete event modeling and operational research.
  • Familiarity with statistical distributions and their applications in modeling.
  • Experience with Confluence, Slack, and other collaboration tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a knack for presenting complex information clearly.
  • Experience with simulation software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their applications in operational research.
  • Familiarity with project management and Agile methodologies.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Negative Vetting 2 security clearance (NV2)
