We're seeking a Senior Developer to oversee day-to-day operations of our CRM, a cloud-based medical device management system that supports our myopia management devices globally. This role requires a unique combination of technical expertise, regulatory compliance knowledge, and exceptional communication skills to work effectively with healthcare professionals, regulatory consultants, international distributors, business development teams as well as overseas based technical team members.

You'll maintain and optimize our Django/React-based CRM system deployed on AWS, managing patient treatment data for thousands of myopia management sessions while ensuring compliance with medical device regulations. The system provides multi-language support for global markets, real-time device monitoring, clinical data analytics, and secure integration with our medical devices.

• Maintain and optimize Django REST API backend and React frontend applications
• Monitor AWS infrastructure (ECS containers, RDS PostgreSQL) for performance and reliability
• Manage production deployments, rollback procedures, and troubleshoot critical issues
• Maintain software documentation in compliance with ISO standards and regulatory procedures
• Execute and document code reviews according to our quality management system
• Participate in internal audits and support external regulatory inspections
• Serve as technical liaison with healthcare providers and distributors
• Lead daily standups and sprint planning sessions following Agile methodologies
• Coordinate with offshore development team and external resources
• Design new features and propose improvements to enhance system functionality and user experience

• 5+ years of production experience with Django and Django REST Framework
• 3+ years and modern JavaScript/TypeScript development
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

• Strong proficiency in:

• AWS services (ECS, RDS, CloudWatch)

• Infrastructure as Code/Terraform
• Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks

• Experience with:

• Agile methodologies adapted for regulated environments

• Regulated software development (medical devices, financial, or similar)
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in regulated software development environments
• JWT authentication, OAuth 2.0, and API security best practices
• HIPAA/medical data privacy requirements
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Comfortable with formal documentation requirements and change control processes
• Patient and professional when dealing with urgent customer issues
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently
• Australian work authorisation required at time of application

• Experience with medical device software or healthcare IT systems
• Experience with multi-language applications and internationalization

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with 3 days in office. You'll be working with our international team across different time zones, requiring both technical excellence and a strong sense of responsibility for maintaining high-quality, compliant systems that ensure uninterrupted service delivery for healthcare providers globally.
