About the Role

As a Shift Supervisor, you'll be responsible for leading the team during your rostered shifts, ensuring smooth operations, great customer service, and consistent product quality. You'll set the tone for the shift, coach team members, handle customer issues, and ensure the store meets Donut King's brand and food safety standards.

This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced environment—perfect for someone who thrives under pressure and enjoys being a key part of a supportive and fun team.

Key Responsibilities

Shift Leadership

• Open and/or close the store following company policies
• Allocate station roles and oversee team performance
• Monitor staff, deliver real-time coaching, and ensure compliant breaks

Customer Service & Complaint Resolution

• Provide outstanding customer service and manage complaints professionally
• Use the LEARN framework to resolve issues on the spot

Sales & KPI Focus

• Monitor sales vs. targets and adjust shift priorities
• Lead upselling and suggestive selling techniques
• Maintain store presentation and cleanliness

Stock & Inventory

• Conduct stock checks and record usage/wastage
• Oversee deliveries, unpacking, and rotation
• Communicate stock issues to management

Food Safety & Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene procedures
• Complete temperature logs, fryer checks, and cleaning documentation

Training Support

• Mentor junior/new staff
• Assist with onboarding and on-shift training
• Provide feedback to management on staff development

What We're Looking For
Essential

• Friendly, energetic, and reliable
• Ability to work under pressure
• Flexibility for early mornings, weekends & public holidays
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• At least 3–6 months experience as a Supervisor, or similar roles.
• Confident barista skills and ability to follow donut decorating standards
• Ability to lead small teams and make real-time decisions
• Good understanding of Donut King procedures (or willingness to learn quickly)

Desirable

• Previous shift leader/supervisor experience
• Barista or coffee-making experience
• Food safety training or willingness to complete
• Cash handling and end-of-day reconciliation experience
• Strong attention to detail and product presentation skills

Work Environment

• Fast-paced, hands-on role
• Standing for long periods
• Working with hot equipment and cleaning agents
• Must comply with uniform and grooming standards
• Mobile phones stored in locker during shifts
• May work alone briefly during open/close
• Responsible for safety, security, and shift reporting
