St Joseph's Nudgee College is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Saxophone Tutor to join our vibrant Performing Arts Department on a part-time, term-time basis. This position involves teaching every Thursday and one other negotiated day. This is an exciting opportunity to share your expertise, inspire young musicians, and contribute to a dynamic and growing Performing Arts program.
The RoleWorking as part of the College's Music team and reporting to the Coordinator of Performance Music, you will:
- Provide individual and group saxophone tuition to students from Years 5 - 12
- Prepare students for performances, studio concerts, AMEB exams, and school events
- Develop students' technical skills, musicality, and performance confidence
- Foster a love of learning and music through encouragement and high-quality teaching
- Support the broader instrumental and ensemble program, including rehearsals and performances as required
- Tutor in the Year 5 Music Immersion Program (essential)
You are a passionate educator and accomplished musician who thrives on helping students build confidence, skill, and creativity through music.
You bring:
- Relevant music qualifications and strong practical performance experience
- Proven experience teaching saxophone in schools or youth music programs
- Ability to teach other woodwind instruments (highly desirable)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A student-centred, encouraging teaching approach
- The ability to work collaboratively within a creative, high-performing team
