About the OpportunityAs the Electrical Design Engineer for Austal Defence Australia you'll be providing and supporting the Design of the vessel from concept through to delivery, on time and on budget. What's Involved Produce accurate information and documentation, which meets all procedural and auditable requirementsEnsure vessel design complies with relevant regulatory authorities, specifications and customer requirementsManage design input from third parties such as drawings, certification and manualsSelection and requisitions for Electrical power and control, automation, components and devices etcPreparation of design and drawings including calculations and schematicsDesign of power generation, distribution, control, lighting and power arrangement, automation, emergency shutdown system, navigation and communication systemsDesign support for production, commissioning and deliveryYou'll Need Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical/Mechatronics) or equivalentA solid understanding of LV & ELV Power generation and distribution.A solid understanding of electrical engineering calculations e.g Short Circuit, Battery calcsAdvanced AutoCAD skillsSolid understanding of Production methods and the practical application of design>3 years relevant experience.
