About the role

This is an exciting full-time opportunity for a talented and experienced Senior Designer to join the Colab Design Group team in Milperra, NSW.

In this pivotal role, As a Senior Designer you will be responsible for conceptualising and designing engaging exhibitions, displays and other experiential environments that captivate audiences and bring our clients' visions to life.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the design and development of innovative exhibition and display concepts that are visually striking and functionally effective

  • Collaborate closely with the project team to understand client requirements and translate them into thoughtful, impactful designs

  • Produce detailed design plans, technical drawings, 3D models and prototypes to bring ideas to life

  • Oversee the project from initial concepts through to final installation, ensuring exceptional quality and attention to detail

  • Mentor and guide more junior designers, sharing your expertise to help develop their skills

  • Travelling insterstate to supervise onsite builds and bump ins for projects as well as dismantle and bump out of designs you have created.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continually elevate the standard of our work

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Senior Designer, preferably in the exhibitions or retail displays industry

  • A strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in conceptual and detailed exhibition/display design

  • Outstanding visual design skills, with a keen eye for balance, colour, typography and spatial awareness

  • Fast Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, AutoCAD, Solidworks or Vectorworks.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the adaptability to work through design challenges

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams

  • A passion for creating innovative, immersive experiences that captivate and inspire audiences
