Launceston Grammar is seeking a passionate EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teacher to join our dedicated teaching team in a fixed-term role (1.0 FTE) commencing Term 4, 2025, with the opportunity for part-time, or job share arrangements. About the RoleThis 1.0 FTE fixed-term position offers the chance to work closely with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, empowering them to succeed both academically and personally. As an EAL Teacher at Launceston Grammar, you will:
- Deliver tailored English language support across a range of year levels.
- Collaborate with teachers to embed EAL strategies into classroom practice.
- Support students in developing language proficiency and confidence for both academic and social success.
- Contribute to a nurturing, inclusive environment where every learner is valued and supported.
- Tertiary qualifications in Education.
- TESOL, ESL, or equivalent postgraduate qualifications highly desirable.
- Current registration with the Tasmanian Teacher's Registration Board (or eligibility).
- Proven experience teaching EAL students in secondary school settings.
- Strong understanding of second language acquisition and effective pedagogical strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with students, families, and staff.
- Current registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Tasmania), or eligibility to obtain.
- A commitment to student wellbeing and child safety.
