Job DescriptionABOUT THE ROLE: This is your chance to join the team at Nautilus Aviation in Cairns QLD as part of Morris Group. Today our network of bases spans Cairns, Port Douglas, Townsville, Darwin, Kakadu (Jabiru), Nhulunbuy (Gove) and Torres Strait (Horn Island).
Nautilus Aviation has built an outstanding reputation based on the quality and diversity of our fleet of helicopters and our commitment to the safety of all passengers and personnel at all times. We pride ourselves on our customer service from the delivery of commercial air work, pilot training and chartered flights all while working in partnership with a number of top tourism operators to deliver leisure experiences over some of the iconic natural landscapes of Northern Australia. Nautilus Aviation has an exciting opportunity for a Travel Consultant to join our tourism team in our Cairns QLD location.
The Travel Consultant will be required to advise on, plan and manage our client's travel packages and itineraries for the North Queensland region. The Travel Consultant for Nautilus Aviation will be responsible for all reservations and sales enquiries, preparing tour itineraries and assisting clients with check-in and safety processes. As a Travel Consultant for Nautilus Aviation, you will be responsible for:
- liaising with clients to determine travel/tour needs and expectations;
- arranging customised experiences and itineraries for clients based on travel needs, budgets and timeframes;
- facilitating luxury clients with bespoke experiences and scenic accommodation transfers;
- delivering exceptional customer service to all clients;
- advising clients on the various helicopter and tourism packages available in Northern Queensland, including attractions and destinations, availability and pricing;
- preparing itineraries for individual and group bookings;
- working with partnered tourism providers to arrange client experiences;
- communicating with clients before, during and after the travel experiences to ensure customer satisfaction and to address any issues or concerns;
- responding to all travel/tour enquiries and providing advice on tours and options;
- processing client payments and preparing documentation/tickets for packages;
- working with the operations team to manage helicopter availability, schedules and daily requirements;
- coordinating travel transfers and collection of passengers for tours;
- ensuring the safety of all customers and compliance with regulations, procedures and policies.
Full-Time Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 ABOUT YOU: To be successful in this position, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:
- relevant training/qualifications in tourism, hospitality or a related field (preferred);
- at least 2 years' experience as a Travel Consultant or similar position;
- experience designing travel/tour packages for customers according to customer needs;
- experience with designing customised travel/tour packages and preparing travel/tour itineraries;
- exceptional customer service skills;
- familiarity with bookings/reservations software and systems;
- knowledge of aviation regulations and safety standards;
- ability to work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced workplace;
- excellent time management and organisational skills;
- administrative and computer skills;
- superior written and verbal communications skills;
- ability to focus on customer needs and requirements;
- flexibility with work hours and days, including weekends and public holidays;
- current driver licence;
- hold, or be able to hold, an Aviation Security Card including police check and drug/alcohol screening;
- a friendly and positive attitude.
