The details:

  • Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight
  • $71,286 pa (includes industry allowance and uniform allowance) + 12% super (level 6)
  • Progression in remuneration is available for this position - up to level 9 (currently $77,400 pa - including industry and uniform allowances + super)
  • Great news - EBA6 currently is underway, with a proposed remuneration increase of 5% effective 1 July 2025
  • 76 hour fortnight
  • Location: Site based with a home depot location of Caboolture - please note, whilst this position has an allocated home depot location, the work will be based across various sites within the area and our team members will start and finish on the job site.
  • Travel allowance is applicable when travelling distances further than your home depot location

As a Grader Operator, your primarily responsibility will be to operate a grader to undertake full pavement reconstruction duties This position is part of Council's internal Construction team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operating the Grader as your main duty, including final trim works
  • Conducting daily pre-start inspections on relevant plant and equipment
  • Reporting any defects, safety concerns or issues related to the machinary or ongoing projects
  • Operating additional plant and equipment as needed, within the scope of your training and licences

This role requires a flexible approach to equipment operation and a strong commitment to safety protocols. You'll be an integral part of the team delivering Council's internal construction projects, with a focus on road pavement construction.

About you

You'll have demonstrated relevant experience in a similar position operating a Grader to reconstruct pavements, including final trim. Your application will demonstrate previous experience operating a range of medium plant equipment used in civil construction or maintenance activities, with a particular emphasis on Grader operation.

You will bring your excellent communication skills, ability to work as part of a team and your experience undertaking manual operational tasks in a safety conscious environment. Safety is also a key priority for us as an organisation, and we will be seeking candidates who not only have the knowledge and physical ability to safely undertake the manual tasks required in this role, we want you to have a genuine desire to contribute to a positive safety culture.

Paired with the above mentioned skills and experience, you will also hold a current truck licence (minimum HR - heavy rigid class), a Construction Induction Card and Certification in the operation of a Grader (LG). Any other certification to operate plant/equipment would be considered desirable.
