Advanced Psychologist

About the role

As an Advanced Psychologist within the Behavioural Escalation Response Team (BERT), you will deliver high-level, evidence-based psychological services to support people with complex disabilities and challenging behaviours. You'll lead clinical practice, service improvement, and collaboration across acute, subacute, and community settings to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and enable safe discharge.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced psychological assessment, intervention, and behaviour support for individuals with complex and challenging behaviours.

• Provide expert clinical leadership, supervision, and consultation across multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

• Lead and contribute to service improvement, research, and evaluation initiatives that enhance clinical outcomes.

• Apply advanced communication and negotiation skills to build effective partnerships across the health and disability sectors.

• Support knowledge translation and innovation to improve service delivery within BERT and Metro North Health.
