Involved in the design and/or erection of electromechanical or hydromechanical equipment for hydropower projects. Should have experience of defining technical specifications for electromechanical equipment, BOPs, and Auxiliaries and/or hydromechanical components and hoisting arrangements, as the case may be.As part of Tractebel's growing Water business in Australia, we are seeking aHydropower Equipment Specialistto be based inMelbourne.The role involves supporting technical studies related toelectromechanical equipmentfor dams, hydropower plants, and hydraulic structures (turbines, generators, BOP, gates, trashracks, SCADA, etc.). In addition to technical responsibilities, the selected candidate will play a key role inliaising with clients and partners on-site, ensuring smooth coordination between local stakeholders and Tractebel's global engineering teams. anThis position offers a unique opportunity tosupport project delivery on the ground, while contributing to thestrategic developmentof our operations in Australia.Strong communication skills and a good understanding of client expectations will be essential to ensure effective project delivery and stakeholder alignment.Reporting tothe Tractebel Australia Head and relevant Project Managers across Tractebel entities, and supported by subject matter experts from our global offices, the key responsibilities will include:Acting as the primary technical point of contact for clients on matters related to the design of hydraulic structures.Leading or supporting the development of technical studies locally, including preparation of reports, calculation notes, and technical memos.Reviewing and validating specific project deliverables as required.Participating in and leading internal and external technical meetings with clients and partners, addressing technical, administrative, and contractual matters in coordination with the Project Manager.Organizing and contributing to technical workshops related to project topics.Coordinating effectively between client requirements and Tractebel's design teams, distinguishing which topics can be handled locally and which require input or validation from central engineering teams.Conducting occasional site visits for inspections, as needed.In addition to the core technical responsibilities, the role will also involve contributing to thedevelopment of Tractebel's activitiesin Australia, including:Supporting the Business Development team by participating in client meetings, building relationships with partners, and promoting Tractebel's technical expertise across various domains.Assisting in bid preparation, including the development of technical methodologies and estimating effort and timelines for specific tasks.Assignment Scope & Workload Expectations:At the start of the assignment, the workload is expected to be evenly split, with 50% allocated to technical activities (including involvement in the Snowy 2.0 project) and 50% to support thebusiness development and project acquisitionefforts.As Tractebel's operations in Australia expand, the role is expected totransition progressively towards a predominantly technical focus.The position will also involveregular short-term travel(typically less than one week) for site visits or client meetings.
