The Stinking Bishops is a triple-concept venue in Newtown, Sydney, restaurant, café, and retail cheese shop in one. We're passionate about artisanal cheeses, specialty coffee, European-inspired dishes, and creating a welcoming space for our loyal community. As a small, owner-operated business, we treat our team like family and believe in supporting each other every step of the way.

The Role:

We're seeking a full-time floor staff member (approx 45 hours/week) to join our close-knit team. You'll work directly alongside the owners and play a key part in delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Business Hours:

  • Café: Sunday to Friday, 7am–2:30pm
  • Restaurant: Tuesday to Friday, 5pm–10pm; Saturday, 12pm–10pm
  • Rosters will be set based on your skills and experience.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience as a waiter/waitress in a busy hospitality setting
  • Confident coffee-making/barista skills
  • Strong interest in wine and cheese (knowledge is a bonus, but passion to learn is essential)
  • Italian language skills are a strong plus
  • Outstanding customer service, most of our guests are regulars, so building relationships and sharing knowledge is priority number one
  • Problem-solving mindset and willingness to take initiative
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work across a variety of service periods as rostered
