An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Manager to join Stagecoach South West at our Torquay depot – the first in the region to operate a 100% electric fleet.

Over the next 6 months, Torquay will become home to 55 brand-new EV buses, delivering sustainable transport across the Torbay network. As Engineering Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in leading this historic transition, ensuring our engineering operation sets the standard for safety, reliability, presentation and environmental performance.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead a skilled engineering team, delivering effective support across a busy, modern depot.
  • Drive high standards of fleet safety, reliability, and presentation, ensuring compliance with all statutory and legislative requirements.
  • Oversee our proactive and preventative maintenance programme.
  • Champion health & safety, embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with senior engineering and local management teams to deliver operational excellence within budget.

  • Strong leadership skills, able to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of health & safety, environmental and employment legislation.
  • A commercially aware, customer-focused mindset.
  • Outstanding communication and analytical ability.
