Airport West Early Learning Cooperative are seeking a passionate, experienced, and dynamic Lead Educator (Room Leader) to join our team.

About The Role: Lead Educator (Room Leader)

We are looking for a Lead Educator who:

· is confident in providing warm and engaging learning environments for children

· is creative, organised and able to design fun and stimulating learning experiences

· is a great communicator who values collaboration and positive relationships

· is interested in building strong relationships with families and our small community

· Demonstrates supportive leadership qualities and is a team player; and

· is committed to delivering high-quality early childhood education and care.

What you'll do:

· Plan, implement, and evaluate child-centred, stimulating, meaningful play-based learning programs aligned with the VEYLDF.

· Take a leadership role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and active supervision of all children

· Lead your room with confidence while supporting and collaborating with an experienced team of educators

· Work closely with Centre Management and other Lead Educators to create a positive working environment and identify and implement initiatives for improvement.

· Observe and assess children's development, maintain accurate records, and use this information to inform and adapt teaching strategies.

· Foster a positive, supportive and inclusive learning environment where children feel safe, heard, valued, and encouraged to explore and learn.

· Maintain open lines of communication with families, providing regular updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns or questions.

· Work collaboratively with colleagues and support agencies to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

· Actively participate in continuous learning and professional development opportunities, reflect on professional practices and knowledge and stay up to date with current early childhood practices and research

Key Requirements:

· Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care

· Experience as a Lead Educator (Room Leader)

· Working with Children Check

· Strong knowledge and experience with the VEYLDF and NQF.

· Strong Knowledge of Mandatory Reporting, Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme

· Current First Aid, CPR, Mandatory Reporting and other compliance requirements

· Food Handlers, SunSmart and Safe Sleep training (or the willingness to obtain)

· Outstanding communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with Children, Families, Professionals, and the Community.

· Strong mentoring and leadership skills

· Strong knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching practices, including behaviour support.

· A creative, patient and nurturing approach to supporting young learners

· Experience in creating a positive and engaging learning environment.

· Availability to work Monday to Friday

Airport West Early Learning Cooperative (AWELC) is a 48 place Not-for-Profit stand-alone Centre, providing care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years. We provide both 3yo and 4yo Funded Kindergarten programs as part of our Curriculum
