Anaesthetic and Recovery Nurse

About The Role
In this role, you will work 3 days per week (7.6 hours per day), primarily in Anaesthetics and Recovery. You will also have the opportunity to contribute across both clinics if needed and ideally be open to cross-training with our IVF Nursing team, broadening your skills and impact.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Pre-operative assessment and patient admission
• Anaesthesia administration and intraoperative monitoring
• Airway management and post-operative care
• Patient education and emotional support
• Multiskilling across admissions, scrub, and scout roles

Qualifications And Experience

• Bachelor of Nursing Degree or higher (for Registered Nurse)
• Post graduate qualifications in Anaesthetics and Recovery
• Current AHPRA Registration
• At least 2 years of clinical peri-operative nursing experience - must have anaesthetics and recovery experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Advanced Life Support (ALS) preferred).

Knowledge and Competencies

• In-depth understanding of day surgery (theatre) nursing.
• Computer literate.
• Adherence to Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) National Competency Standards for Registered Nurses.
• Familiarity with National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and Australian College of Operating Room Nurses (ACORN) Standards.
• Strong skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making, and communication.
