Qualified Shipwright / Boatbuilder – Full-Time

Location: RS Shipwrights Pty Ltd, Oyster Cove – Port Stephens, NSW

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

About the Role

We are seeking a trade-qualified Shipwright/Boatbuilder to join our multi-skilled team on a full-time, basis. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects across both sail and power vessels — from minor repairs to custom fit-outs and full refits, including but not limited to;

Key Duties

  • Structural and cosmetic fibreglass and gelcoat repairs
  • Timber structural and cosmetic repairs, including varnish work
  • Custom cabinetry and interior fit-outs
  • Paint repairs and vessel resprays
  • Gel coat touch-ups and repairs
  • Vessel rebuilds, refits, and modification works
  • Marine Plumbing
  • Teak deck construction and maintenance
  • On-site and off-site warranty work

About You

  • Trade qualification (MEM30719 Certificate III in Marine Craft Construction) or proven experience as a shipwright/boatbuilder
  • Confident using hand and power tools
  • Comfortable working at heights and in varied conditions
  • Own tools and reliable transport (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current car licence
  • High attention to detail and strong documentation and communication skills
  • Safe, reliable, and professional work practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
