Official Visitor to Youth Justice Centres - Inspector of Custodial Services

This is a targeted expression of interest. While all applicants are welcome, preference will be given to candidates who meet the established standards of the role and are of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait islander descent. This is because the Inspector of Custodial Services acknowledges this lived experience contributes a perspective valuable to our work with this community.

The Official Visitor provides a cultural connection for Aboriginal children in custody and centre staff. Aboriginal children need the support of the community.

Are you able to provide support and understanding of the issues facing Aboriginal children while in custody and to help them communicate and negotiate their issues and concerns? If you are, then please consider being an Official Visitor in a Youth Justice Centre.

About us
