About the role
The Cowra Bowling & Recreation Club is seeking a talented and motivated Chef to join our team. As our Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality, delicious meals in our thriving club. This is a full-time role based in Cowra, NSW 2794.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing, cooking and presenting a wide range of meals (including Sri Lankan cuisine) to club members and guests
- Developing and refining menu items, ensuring a consistently high standard of food quality
- Managing kitchen operations, including inventory, ordering, stock control and food preparation
- Supervising and training kitchen staff to uphold our high standards of service and food preparation
- Ensuring the kitchen and food service areas comply with all relevant health and safety regulations
- Collaborating with the management team to identify opportunities for menu improvements and cost efficiencies
What we're looking for
- Significant experience as a Chef, ideally in a similar hospitality environment
- Excellent culinary skills and a keen eye for detail in food presentation
- Strong leadership and communication abilities to effectively manage kitchen staff
- A passion for working with fresh, high-quality ingredients and creating innovative dishes
- A thorough understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet the needs of our diverse clientele
