What you'll be doing

The Cancer Care Social Worker is an integral part of the multidisciplinary health care team, providing quality services to Social Work to patients/clients of the SNSW Local Health District in order to meet their health and wellbeing needs.

Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications as a Social Worker, with eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Demonstrated highly proficient written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Extensive specialist Cancer Care Social Worker or broad generalist knowledge, clinical proficiency and ability to work with minimal supervision, and collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and organise own work / caseload across a regional area.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development, quality improvement and evidence based practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead planning and evaluation of team activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide and coordinate staff and student supervision.
  • Current unrestricted drivers' licence and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances across the Local Health District.
