Full Time Secondary Pathways Coordinator
Carmichael College is a Prep to Year 12 co-educational, non-denominational Christian College situated in Morayfield, Queensland. The College was established in 2015 and is enjoying steady growth.
The College is seeking applications from experienced, passionate Christian professionals to join as a Full Time Secondary Pathways Coordinator.
The Secondary Pathways Coordinator works prayerfully and diligently within a team, and collaborates with fellow staff, parents, guardians, and external agencies to maximise educational and eternal choices for all students.
Applicants should be available to commence as of 2026 or earlier by negotiation, and:
· Professionally represent the College in personal presentation, manner, and Christ-like service.
· Operate with a high and consistent standard of service, showing an enthusiastic and nurturing approach.
· Work within the College's mission, framework, and policies at all times.
· Comply with College policies, procedures, and practices, including Health and Safety and the Staff Code of Conduct.
· Work effectively and appropriately with the Australian Curriculum, Senior Assessment system, and/or vocational education system.
· Must be an Australian citizen, the College does not offer international sponsorship; Overseas applicants will not be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities
Careers Coordination:
· Manage the development and delivery of Senior Education and Training (SET) Plans and pathways for Year 9–12 students, in collaboration with your line manager.
· Work with the Head of Senior and Studies Coordinator to provide timely feedback and advice to students and parents about academic progress, ATAR projections, and pathway opportunities.
· Organise and oversee the Year 10 Work Experience program, and facilitate, as appropriate, work experience opportunities for other individual students.
· Maintain strong expertise in career pathways, including knowledge of and promotion of university opportunities and prerequisites, open days, connections to other educational providers (e.g. TAFE), and alternative study options.
· Actively facilitate participation in external events such as university or TAFE open days.
VET Coordination
· Develop programs and manage relationships to enable the College to deliver vocational education opportunities to students, both on campus and in partnership with external agencies.
· Develop and maintain professional networks and partnerships with external RTOs, ACPs, and businesses to strengthen the College's VET pathway support network.
· Contribute to the development of procedures and policies for managing the vocational education program, including exploring future opportunities (e.g. becoming a school-based RTO, expanding certificate course offerings on campus).
· Advocate for and support staff who can potentially deliver vocational education on campus (e.g. hospitality in the café, trade skills in the workshop, childcare in the childcare centre, ministry in the church).
· Develop and implement systems to support VET students and hold them accountable to facilitate completion of enrolled courses, traineeships, and apprenticeships.
· Maintain effective records of all Senior Secondary students regarding vocational course requirements, learning outcomes, and ATAR and QCE tracking needs.
· Prepare reports as requested, detailing progress and plans in vocational education, including individual student progress and overall assessment of program effectiveness
General Responsibilities
· Organise and contribute to marketing events across the school year, including Subject Selection Evening, Careers Expo, and online communications.
· Attend and contribute to relevant team meetings (e.g. Secondary Leadership or Secondary Curriculum Leaders meetings).
· Where qualified, maintain teaching competency and knowledge as required by the College and statutory authorities, and teach and assess Secondary classes as timetabled.
This role is open to all applicants:
· For teaching staff, preference will be for a full time position
· For non-teaching staff this will be a 0.5 position with negotiation up to full time
