Our vet nursing team is expanding and we are after someone experienced to be a core part of our patient care team.

We like our nurses to be concentrating totally on their patients. By collaborating with our dedicated receptionists and veterinarians, dealing with customers only forms a small part of our nurses' day.

• You are efficient, and can organise the daily hospital treatment schedule.

Your responsibilities would include:


• In-patient and surgical patient examination.


• Hospital treatments through the day. Our Smartflow software really helps to keep track of this.


• Preparing the surgical and diagnostic areas.


• Aseptic surgical kit preparation


• Collecting samples for pathology testing. We have a full suite of IDEXX in-house path analysers.


• Preparing for anaesthetics, placing IV catheters.


• Monitoring anaesthesia with the assistance of pulse oximetry, capnography, NIBP and ECG on all patients.


• General and dental radiography.


• Performing dental cleaning procedures.


• Patient admits and discharges.

We want to offer a great salary, dependant on experience. On offer will be a package (salary + super) of up to $71,000.

The Hospital has been looking after the pets of Weston Creek and Woden for over 50 years. WCVH is an ASAV accredited hospital. Our senior vets have the combined experience of over 100 years in practice. (That makes us sound old) We want to continue to build on our great history with ongoing innovation and being leaders in the veterinary profession.
