Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Voconiq Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

Employment Type: Full-time, 12-month contract

About Voconiq

Voconiq is a mission-based, data-driven scale-up providing a voice to communities in the companies, industries and institutions that influence their lives. The organisations we work with want to have meaningful relationships with the communities they operate around – not just listening but actively engaging and working with these communities to create mutually beneficial outcomes. Voconiq has developed a sophisticated data analytic engine that enables this by translating community survey data into customer (and community) insights. We are creating positive change through science and bring the 'Social' to the measurement of ESG performance.

We are currently working in 18 countries on six continents, providing a range of challenging and engaging contexts to navigate when delivering our services. At times, these are contested spaces where our data helps to find constructive ways for companies and communities to move forward—other times, we work with industries to help create their first set of sustainability goals. In all our work, what we do matters and has an impact.

Our customers are diverse, including the breadth of Australian agricultural industries, large renewable energy companies, mining companies, and local government bodies. What they have in common is a desire to bring community voices into their decision making.

What drives us each day is knowing we're helping communities translate their experiences, concerns and aspirations into a language our customers can understand and then use to maximise their positive impact. And we're growing fast, with big plans for the next few years. Just like the communities we serve, we're a diverse team and on the hunt for people with fresh insight, new ways of working—and the same passion we have—to make an impact on a local and global scale.

About the Role

We are seeking an early career Junior Consultant with a strong interest in sales, consulting or business development—and a curiosity for agriculture, social science and community engagement—to join our Service Delivery team on a 12-month full-time contract (with the potential for a permanent role).

This new role is designed to support the execution of our strategy and sharpen our go-to-market and sales processes. You'll work closely with our Agriculture Sector Lead to take charge of and deliver key operational tasks for our agricultural clients, with scope to broaden into other sectors over time. You'll play a key part in shaping and sharing what we do, driving internal clarity on our business model and collateral, and learn how to present client deliverables with confidence and impact.

You'll collaborate across Program Leads, Project Managers, and our Product teams (including Data Science, Engagement Science and Engineering) to gain deep insights on your clients from across the business, with structured support from these internal facing teams. These insights will feed directly into how we tailor our work for clients and how we refine and focus our business development efforts.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

You will work across a range of projects and support the team to:

Develop Compelling Proposals

  • Work with subject matter experts and professionals from across the business—including Service Delivery, Data Science, Engagement Science, Engineering and Design—to shape smart, practical solutions for clients. This is a chance to learn how a tech-enabled scale-up works from the inside.
  • Draft, format, and manage proposal documents for clients and partners.
  • Maintain and improve our central library of proposal templates and content, so we can move fast and respond well.

Market Intelligence Gathering

  • Help turn insights from our teams and customers into inspiring pitch decks and workshops that clearly show what we offer and why it should matter to clients and partners.
  • Support the team to spot new ideas that we could turn into products, and help test whether clients want them—through research, conversations, and early trials.

  • Update our internal Business Development systems to ensure an accurate sales pipeline.

  • Contribute to the ongoing refinement of our agriculture sector growth strategy.

Client-Facing Delivery

  • Turn community and customer insights into clear, useful outputs—like reports and presentations—that help clients take action, drawing on your growing understanding of their needs and industries.
  • Support others in our team with the design and delivery of outputs, including presentations and briefing decks.
  • Shadow our presentation superstars (like our CEO, our Agriculture Sector Lead, and our Business Development Director) to learn how to deliver effective results presentations to clients, and later take the opportunity to lead these sessions.
  • Learn to lead and deliver Community of Practice workshops and sessions, where we deeply engage in-person with our customers.

What You'll Bring

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in consulting, strategy, sales, proposal writing, research, or client-facing delivery roles.

  • Exposure to structured communication formats and experience crafting tailored written outputs for different audiences (e.g. pitches, decks, internal briefs).

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise across multiple streams of work.
  • Confidence and presence in verbal communication, including a desire to grow in public speaking and client engagement.
  • A love for people, customers, communities, listening and talking – this is a customer facing role, so we'll need you to be confident working directly with high powered individuals.
  • A passion for using data, social science, research, and/or relationships to drive meaningful change.
  • The ability to travel for work – this role will involve frequent domestic travel and occasional international travel.
  • A current Australian Drivers Licence and the ability to drive safely and confidently in a medium sized car – this role will involve some driving.
  • Experience with CRM platforms (such as HubSpot and Jira) is desired but not essential (training can be provided).
