Curtain and Blind Maker

We are a progressive manufacturing company of blinds and curtains for commercial projects.

We have a position available in our Somersby workroom for a trained and competent curtain maker. We will consider applicants with limited experience who understand measurement, are interested in learning manufacturing techniques and are keen to learn curtain making skills.

Essential skills:

• Basic sewing machine operation and maintenance
• Ability to read and interpret measurements accurately
• Hand-eye coordination for detailed fabric work
• Understanding of different fabric types and their properties

Experience requirements:

• Minimum 6 months in textile manufacturing, upholstery, or similar hands-on work (preferred)
• OR demonstrated experience with home sewing projects and willingness to learn commercial techniques
• No formal curtain making experience required - we provide training

Our factory is modern and airconditioned and we provide good working conditions.

Physical requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods during production
• Comfortable working with your hands for detailed tasks
• Capable of lifting fabric rolls up to 15kg
• Good eyesight (with or without correction) for precise work

Work eligibility:

• Must have unrestricted right to work in Australia
• Reliable transport to Somersby location required
• Available for full-time hours Monday to Friday

Qualifications:

• Year 10 completion or equivalent
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills essential
• Trade qualification in textiles or manufacturing preferred but not essential
• White Card or willingness to obtain (if applicable)
