The Role

The Latrobe City Council is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Statutory Planner. This role is responsible for statutory planning duties and also contributes to strategic planning and policy matters.

The successful candidate will report to the Coordinator Statutory Planning and will be instrumental in implementing the Council's statutory planning functions.

Latrobe City Council aim to provide a service that is not only efficient and accurate but also positively impacts the economic, social, and environmental growth of our community.

Additionally, the role includes occasional strategic planning tasks to promote the ongoing enhancement of our planning practices. As a key contributor to the Latrobe City Council, you will help strengthen our organisation, allowing us to play a pivotal role in making the Latrobe region one of Australia's leading competitive areas.

You will need:

  • To have completed or be working towards relevant tertiary qualifications or have lesser formal qualification with relevant experience
  • Experience in managing competing demands of stakeholders whilst ensuring the assessment of applications is undertaken in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to engage a range of professional and community stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the community.
  • A sound understanding of the Victorian Planning Policy framework and Urban Planning regulatory framework.

Successful applicants will be required to apply for and satisfactorily obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
