About the Position : Cabinetmaker & Estimator

We are seeking an experienced and trade-qualified Cabinetmaker to join our workshop and sales team. This dual-focused role requires strong hands-on skills paired with the technical knowledge necessary to accurately assess, measure, and price custom projects.

Key Responsibilities

Workshop & Installation (Approx. 60%)

• Fabrication : Manufacture and assemble high-quality custom cabinetry, including kitchens, vanities, wardrobes, and commercial fit-outs, following detailed plans.
• Cutting & Machining: Operate and maintain workshop machinery (e.g., panel saw, edge bander, CNC experience is a plus).
• Quality Control: Ensure all work meets our high standards for finish, accuracy, and structural integrity.
• Installation: Assist with the professional and efficient installation of completed projects on-site.

Measuring & Quoting (Approx. 40%)

• Site Visits: Travel to client sites to conduct precise final check measures for manufacturing.
• Technical Drawings: Interpret architectural plans and create clear cutting lists and manufacturing diagrams.
• Quoting/Estimating: Prepare accurate, detailed, and competitive quotes using [mention relevant software if any, e.g., Planit, Cabinet Vision, Excel].
• Client Communication: Clearly communicate technical requirements, material options, and timelines to clients, designers, and project managers.

What We Are Looking For

• Trade Qualification: Certificate III in Cabinetmaking/Joinery or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum [*3-5*] years post-apprenticeship experience as a Cabinetmaker.
• Measuring Expertise: Proven ability to conduct highly accurate site measures (including complex angles and unusual spaces).
• Quoting Acumen: Strong understanding of material costs, labour time, and overheads to produce profitable quotes.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to both manufacturing and documentation.
• Driver's License: Current, clean driver's license (essential for site visits).
• Tooling: Must have your own basic set of hand tools.
