What you'll be doing

  • Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, provide safe, compassionate, person centred care in collaboration with individual/s and the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve quality care outcomes for patients and clients.
  • Assist in the evaluation of nursing care through provision of information, documentation and reporting changes in patient's conditions and participation in Unit meetings and discussions.
  • Acts as a preceptor to other enrolled nurses, undergraduates, Assistants in Nursing and work experience students as appropriate.
  • Work within own scope of practice and seek support, learning and education where required.
  • Where the occupant of the position is medication endorsed, administer medications in accordance with NSW Health and Far West LHD policies and procedures.

  • Current Endorsed Enrolled Nurse registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated application of professional and ethical boundaries to the delivery of patient care in the context of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to advocate for and implement individualised person centred care patient care.
  • Demonstrated capacity to identify and resolve conflict situations by managing own emotional responses and interacting with others in a personable and professional manner.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work and partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait, Islander patients and families and employees to enhance health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
  • Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
  • Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based best practice and its contribution to changing practice and policies within the organisation.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills within a multidisciplinary team.
