About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Extension Agronomist to drive the growth and success of our forage seed business (including tropical and subtropical) in Australia. This role involves a farm system approach to position our seed portfolio effectively for maximum impact. The successful candidate will provide technical and product support to sales teams, coordinate trial site establishment for testing and training, and serve as a key representative for tropical forage species across internal and external stakeholder engagements.

This position covers the entire supply chain, from initial product concept to market strategy, including overseeing high-grade seed production and supporting sales and marketing teams with technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market and farming systems analysis to optimise seed portfolio positioning.
  • Provide technical and product support to sales teams.
  • Establish and manage trial sites for testing, demonstration, and training.
  • Represent northern forage species in stakeholder engagements.
  • Support high-grade seed production, including early breeding seed bulk-ups.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to provide technical expertise.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field and or at least five years of experience in a similar agricultural role.
  • Knowledge of Australia's tropical and subtropical farming systems (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of agronomy, including soil science, crop production, and plant physiology.
  • Informed on the latest research and developments in agronomic practices and technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with clients, farmers, and colleagues.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs on agronomic practices and product usage.
