Our client, a well-established product development company in Melbourne is looking for a qualified and experienced Industrial Designer to join their development team. They design and produce innovative products for several consumer markets globally. This position will be hybrid, and we are looking to interview immediately.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Conceptualise design ideas through concept sketches, product illustrations, technical diagrams and development documentation.
  • Evaluate and propose design ideas based on user centric needs, materials, production methods, applications, appearance and functionality.
  • Product technical development using SolidWorks.
  • Develop projects to meet stakeholder, schedule, commercial and product requirements.
  • Project manage and develop projects from concept through to mass production.

Qualifications & Experience Required;

  • Industrial Design or Product Design Engineering qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in consumer product development.
  • Strong understanding of Injection Moulding, tooling and DFM.
  • Prior exposure to development & research – understanding of marketing, consumer insights and trends.
  • Excellent communication and ability to both visualise and vocalise ideas.
  • Strong project management, project delivery and commercialisation skills.

This business has had very little staff turnover due to the care and support they show their staff members. You will be joining a growing and stable business and design team with significant opportunity to progress your career.

Depending on experience the base range will be between $90K - $120K plus super. This is a permanent position that has a hybrid setup
