The Opportunity
As the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE), you will provide a comprehensive and robust clinical learning, development and education program to care staff across Carrington's programs. Working in our Quality, Risk & Assurance team, this role is responsible for the continuous improvement of our clinical education, assuring our adherence to quality and accreditation requirements and enabling the continued delivery of high-quality care for resident quality of life. The current opportunity is for a full time parental leave cover position from late October 2025 to 30 November 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Assessing best practice clinical competence for all new and existing care staff
- Delivering clinical training to meet identified skills need & gaps, clinical needs of residents, compliance & best practice
- Content areas include: clinical care, medication management, infection control, pain management, care planning & assessment, clinical & care management systems.
- Training formats include: toolbox talks, in-services, bedside case studies, competencies, inductions and workshops.
- Coaching & mentoring clinical leadership roles, and coaching staff to provide quality care & services.
- Orienting and coaching clinical work experience students with the aim of recommending students as potential employees
- Providing information to the clinical leadership team on clinical training activities to ensure compliance and audit-readiness
- Engaging in continuous improvement activities to evaluate training & competency alignment with clinical & client needs
- Supporting quality, risk & assurance activities and projects with clinical and training expertise and resources
About You
Essential Criteria:
- Current unconditional Registered Nurse APHRA registration with minimum 3 years' clinical experience in aged care
- Qualification in Workplace Assessment and Training (e.g. Cert IV in Training & Assessment)
- Experience with clinical assessments and care planning, ACFI and accreditation
- Demonstrated advanced training and clinical leadership experience
- Commitment to continuous improvement & passion for quality care
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent time management and problem solving skills
- Ability to work well autonomously and in a team environment
- Functional IT skills & documentation experience
Desirable:
- Successful completion of relevant post graduate studies would be highly regarded
- Current First Aid Certificate
