We have an exciting opportunity for a Lawyer to join a highly regarded Insurance practice in Sydney. As part of a growing team, you will be exposed to all aspects of dust disease litigation, workers compensation, statutory disputes, and damages claims.

About the Role: You will work closely with senior lawyers, gaining exposure to a diverse range of matters. Your responsibilities will include advising on dust disease litigation, managing statutory disputes, and handling work injury damages claims. You'll also assist with workers compensation matters and contribute to the overall success of the team by managing cases, drafting legal documents, and liaising with clients.

About the Partner's Practice: You will have the chance to work alongside a partner with over 15 years of experience in dust diseases law and historical liability claims. This partner's practice focuses on providing expert legal services in dust-related cases, particularly for NSW government clients across transport, education, public works, and health sectors. The partner is known for their practical approach to resolving complex litigation and their strong background in alternative dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on dust disease litigation, statutory disputes, and workers compensation matters
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, settlement agreements, and correspondence
  • Assist with multi-party matters in both common law courts and specialist tribunals
  • Work directly with clients, including government agencies, insurers, and employers
  • Handle claims related to historical liability and navigate historical insurance policies
  • Demonstrate a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for clients
