We are seeking a skilled and motivated Agricultural Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will perform tests and experiments, providing technical support to assist Agricultural Scientists in areas such as research, production, servicing, and marketing.
Key Responsibilities-
Soil and Land Analysis: Examine topographical, physical, and soil characteristics of farmland to determine its most effective use and identify nutrient deficiencies.

Crop Management: Assist in developing new methods of planting, fertilising, harvesting, and processing crops to achieve optimum land usage.

Pest and Disease Control: Identify pathogenic micro-organisms, insects, parasites, fungi, and weeds harmful to crops and livestock, and assist in devising methods of control.

Livestock Monitoring: Inspect livestock to gauge the effectiveness of feed formulae and assist in controlled breeding experiments to develop improved crop and livestock strains.

Technology Integration: Provide advice, training, and technical support on technology solutions such as sensors, farm management software, data, and robotics.

Equipment Maintenance: Install, program, test, repair, and maintain animal and crop health monitoring equipment.

Data Collection and Reporting: Collect and collate data for research and animal husbandry purposes, and prepare reports on findings.

Advisory Services: Advise producers on farming techniques and management and production processes.

Educational Requirements:

A qualification assessed as comparable to the educational level of an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Diploma or higher in a relevant field.

Experience:

Demonstrated experience in agricultural research, crop and livestock management, or related areas.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in the use of agricultural technology and equipment.

Ability to analyse and interpret data related to agricultural practices.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with a team and provide clear advice to producers.
