Group Drafting and Compliance Specialist

About the Role

This role plays a key part in delivering Summit Homes Group's high-quality, compliant, and market-driven residential designs. Working closely with the Design Manager, Drafting Managers, and wider Design Team, you will prepare standard working drawings, develop new detailing, and maintain the group's BIM library.

You will also lead and coordinate the trainee draftsperson program, providing mentoring, training, and support to develop skills and uphold Summit Homes' standards of excellence. The role involves collaborating with sales teams, supporting display home projects, contributing to tiny homes designs, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Your work will ensure designs are accurate, cost-effective, efficient to construct, and aligned with customer expectations, while fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.

About You

You are an experienced residential draftsperson with advanced proficiency in Archicad and a strong understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC), R-Codes, and standard working drawings for project homes. You take pride in delivering accurate, compliant, and high-quality designs while maintaining attention to detail and efficiency.

You enjoy working in a collaborative, supportive environment and have a passion for mentoring and developing others, helping build capability across the drafting team. Creative thinking, practical problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement are central to how you approach your work. You are highly organised, can manage competing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where innovation and quality are valued.
