About Happy Hounds

Happy Hounds provides premium dog walking, pet sitting, and pet wedding services across the Gold Coast and beyond. We are expanding rapidly and need a proactive Business Development & Operations Manager to drive growth, recruit talented staff, and optimise our systems and processes.

We believe in building a team with a vested interest in the company's success. Exceptional candidates may have the opportunity to acquire equity in the business, giving you a direct stake in our growth. Your top priorities will be recruitment and business expansion, alongside improving sales, systems, and processes. You'll ensure our team and operations are set up to support sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Team Growth: Source, interview, and onboard dog walkers and pet sitters to scale the business efficiently.
  • Business Expansion: Identify high-potential areas for new services, develop and execute expansion strategies, and ensure smooth operational setup.
  • Sales & Revenue Growth: Drive client acquisition, improve sales performance, and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Systems & Process Improvement: Optimise business operations, streamline processes, and enhance efficiency.
  • Client & Partnership Management: Build rapport and trust with clients, partners, and business owners; deliver confident presentations.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional overtime to support business needs.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Business Development Manager, with expertise in sales growth, recruitment, and operations
  • Strong presentation skills to engage business owners and decision-makers
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills — able to build rapport and trust with clients and team members
  • Ability to work autonomously and unsupervised
  • Passion for pets and familiarity with the pet care industry (preferred)
  • Experience with online tools (HubSpot, SquareSpace) and industry specific apps
