Pacific Industrial Company (PIC) is seeking an experienced Surveyor to join our delivery team on the Konnongorring Outloading Rail Bin (ORB) Facility Project. As Head Contractor, PIC is delivering the full scope of civil, SMP, and electrical construction works. We are looking for a detail-driven Surveyor to oversee all site dimensional control, set-outs, and as-built documentation.

This role suits someone who enjoys hands-on site work, precise measurement, and close collaboration with construction teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and high-quality outcomes.

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with the Civil and SMP Supervisors, the Surveyor will be responsible for all site survey activities, including set outs, verification, monitoring, and preparation of accurate as-built records for submission to the client.

This is a site-based role at Konnongorring on a project roster.

Key Responsibilities

Surveying & Site Dimensional Control

• Carry out all survey set outs for civil works, structural steel, equipment foundations, mechanical installations, and underground services.
• Perform regular site measurements to verify alignment, levels, locations, and tolerances.
• Provide dimensional control support to construction crews to ensure installation accuracy.

As-Built Documentation

• Record and prepare accurate as-built survey data in accordance with PIC and client (CBH) requirements.
• Prepare as-built drawings, survey reports, mark-ups, and digital files for QA and handover packages.
• Maintain a structured and traceable record of survey data throughout the project life cycle.

Quality Assurance & Field Verification

• Verify completed works against design drawings, models, and specifications.
• Identify and report discrepancies, clashes, or non-conformances, and work with site teams to resolve issues.
• Support inspections, hold points, and verification processes as required.

Coordination & Communication

• Work closely with PIC's Civil, SMP, and Electrical teams to schedule survey activities and prioritise critical path tasks.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to confirm layout requirements and tolerances.
• Provide timely updates to the Project Manager on survey progress, risks, and constraints.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Tertiary qualifications in Bachelor of Surveying, or related discipline.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in construction or engineering surveying.
• Proficiency with total stations, GPS equipment, and survey software.
• Strong understanding of set-out, as-built, and dimensional control processes.
• High attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently on a busy site environment.

Desirable:

• Experience in SMP or bulk materials handling projects.
• Previous work on regional or remote construction sites.
• Familiarity with client survey requirements for infrastructure projects.
