About the role

Mlakar Fabrication is seeking a diligent and motivated Sheetmetal Fabrication Apprentice to join our team in Rocklea, Queensland. This is a full-time apprenticeship opportunity that will provide hands-on training and development in the sheetmetal fabrication trade. As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced tradespeople and learn the essential skills required to become a qualified sheetmetal welder.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting in the fabrication and assembly of various sheetmetal products.

  • Gaining experience in the operation of machinery and tools used in sheetmetal fabrication.

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

  • Developing proficiency in cutting, bending, and joining sheetmetal components.

  • Maintaining a safe and organised work environment.

  • Participating in on-the-job training and attending vocational education classes.

  • Completing all tasks and responsibilities as directed by your supervisor.

What we're looking for

  • Strong interest and enthusiasm for a career in the sheetmetal fabrication trade.

  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.

  • Willingness to learn and a commitment to completing your apprenticeship.

  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy materials.

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
