Due to retirement and redesign, we are looking for enthusiastic and proactive dietitians to join our Clinical Dietetic Team in NHS Forth Valley (FV). These posts are largely based in the Community Dietetic Team at Stirling Community Hospital providing a specialist dietetic service to a range of patient groups but could also have the possibility of in reaching to Acute services to support a specific part of that service. Working across the geographical area of NHSFV and across clinical sites the post holders will benefit from the support of a team of band 7, 6, and 5 dietitians and dietetic assistants to assist in the delivery of excellent patient care.
The caseload will predominantly include outpatient clinics and patients at home with the potential for some inpatient work. Dietetic input will be varied including nutritional support, GI, tube feeding, texture modification.
A wide range of dietetic experience is essential and experience in community dietetics or an outreach service is highly desirable but not essential, as training and development will be given with the opportunity to attend in-house and formal training.
The post holder must have excellent communication and organisational skills, an ability to deliver high quality education, be committed to personal development and be a strong team player.
The post holder will provide supervision and support to band 5 and band 3 staff, offering the opportunity for leadership development.
The Forth Valley Nutrition & Dietetic Service comprises of Community and Acute Clinical Teams and the Healthier Future Team. The clinical service provides inpatient and outpatient services within Forth Valley Royal Hospital, 4 Community Hospitals and a Community Service. The wider team of 44 Clinical Dietitians provide a wide variety of specialities including critical care, renal, stroke, paediatrics, diabetes, IBS, home enteral feeding along with 5 dietetic assistants and an administrative team.
Shadowing and development opportunities exist within these other clinical specialities, and we strongly support shared learning opportunities within the team. The team are committed to quality improvement, and the post-holder will be encouraged to be involved in the planning and delivery of projects.
All team members are expected to actively contribute to departmental activities e.g. student training, department meetings and when necessary, provide some cover to other parts of the service, where competencies allow.
This post will be based in the Community Team based at Stirling Health and Care Village with the potential for some services to be delivered from other NHS Forth Valley sites and for some remote working. The post holders will be expected to work across the geographic region of Forth valley. NHS Forth Valley is centrally located in Scotland with good transport links, easy access to major cities and spectacular countryside.
