About the role

This is a leadership opportunity where you'll guide the interface between major projects and safe rail access. You'll be responsible for coordinating third-party works across the V/Line network, ensuring they're delivered safely, compliantly, and with minimal disruption.

As the Senior Projects Access Interface Team Leader, you'll manage a team that reviews and evaluates access requests, provides expert advice, and supports safe project delivery. Your leadership will help maintain high standards of safety, efficiency, and stakeholder engagement across all third-party activities.

You will also play a key role in driving continuous improvement across processes, enhancing efficiency and ways of working, and collaborating closely with project teams to optimise end-to-end outcomes.

Key accountabilities include:

· Lead and support the Projects Access Interface Team Leader and team.

· Review and issue Site Access Permits (SAPs).

· Provide rail safe working advice and recommendations.

· Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe access.

· Monitor compliance with access conditions and standards.

· Advise on proposed work locations and access planning.

· Maintain and improve internal procedures and reporting systems.

· Analyse legislative changes and their impact on third-party works.

· Represent V/Line in meetings and occupation planning discussions.

· Travel may be required to support project delivery and stakeholder engagement.

  • Technical expertise in third-party documentation and application processes.
  • Experience managing stakeholders at multiple organisational levels.
  • Strong administrative and writing skills, including oversight of IMS.
  • Confidence to advocate for your team and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Professional, composed and accountable under pressure.
