National Seniors Australia (NSA) is the leading not-for-profit organisation advocating for the rights and well-being of older Australians. Through our advocacy, research, and member engagement, we drive positive change and give older Australians a powerful voice.

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and deliver HR strategy and operations that empower our people and align with our mission. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), this pivotal role provides expert guidance across recruitment, development, wellbeing, and compliance - ensuring our team is supported, valued, and equipped to perform at their best.

About the Role

As Human Resources Manager, you will:

  • Lead NSA's national HR function in alignment with our Strategic Plan.
  • Provide proactive HR and employee relations advice across all business units.
  • Develop, review, and implement HR and Work Health & Safety (WH&S) policies that ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and professional development programs.
  • Drive initiatives in leadership development, succession planning, and employee wellbeing.
  • Manage WH&S compliance, including incident reporting and return-to-work coordination.
  • Partner with the departmental leaders and the ELT to strengthen culture, capability, and staff retention.

About You

You are an experienced HR professional who is passionate about people and purpose. You bring:

  • Minimum five years' experience in a senior or standalone HR role.
  • Sound knowledge of Fair Work legislation, Awards, and employment contracts.
  • Proven ability to manage recruitment, performance management, and conflict resolution.
  • Experience developing and implementing HR and WH&S frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (desirable).
  • WH&S and/or Return-to-Work certification (desirable).
