The Role:
Our Precision Machining workshop based in NT is requiring a fulltime 1st Class Metal Machinist or Fitter Machinist to join our fast paced and developing workshop, due to growing work fronts for contracts, upcoming / existing projects, reoccurring maintenance and shut down requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- We run manual and cnc machines in a jobbing environment, Im looking for someone who is versatile enough to run the manual machines but also program set and operate 3 and 4 axis mills, and lathes. Work in a safe and productive manner
- Assist in the continual improvement of processes
- Ability to read detailed drawings to manufacture parts
- Experience with conventional workshop equipment (Lathe, Milling, Surface Grinding, Cylindrical Grinding) to manufacture parts from various metals and material types.
- CNC machine operation and programming, including siemens and Mazatrol controllers an advantage.
- Measuring and checking parts for tolerance and fits according to tolerances
- Fitting of parts into sub-assemblies and machines
- Undertake maintenance and repairs of machines and equipment
- Provide technical support to ensure all works are completed to all health and safety, environment and quality to requirements
- Preform operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing of mechanical parts
- Develop and maintain strong healthy relationships with internal and external stake holders
- Fanuc gcode machines, programming with Mastercam and gibbs cam.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Recognized trade qualification as fitter machinist, or 1st class metal machinist
- Minimum of 5 years' experience
- Proven technical competency in precision metal machinery
- Proactive safety focus
- Ability to manage your own time and be self-motivated
- Good communication skills with positive attitude to work
- An ability to proactively work in a fast-paced environment.
- Disciplined attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and team working skills
- A current driver license.
All suitably qualified and experience candidates will be considered, will also consider sponsoring applicants under the TSS-482 or 494 Visa sponsorship program or visa transfer. Salary range will be between AUD $85,000 and AUD $100,000.
